Her Time is Now! Say YES!

Jan 10, 2019

Our world needs great leaders now more than ever.

It’s time to be fully aware of our world and take action for what is needed to make our world united, healthy and peaceful. It’s time to create an environment that we are happy to pass on to future generations.

That full awareness in the present moment is the essence of mindful entrepreneurship and leadership.

As Sheryl Sandberg once said, “We cannot change what we are not aware of and once we are aware, we cannot help but change.”

Women - it’s time to embrace our leadership and wisdom to make that change right now.

KEY 1: BE A LEADER

Someone once told me, “If you have the chance to lead, YOU LEAD!”

When was the last time you said, “Enough is enough?” Then you took charge. Right now, we have a great opportunity to create long lasting and effective positive change.

It’s time to step into our greatness, honor our wisdom and become the inspiring and powerful leaders for ourselves and our world.

2018 was a banner year for women in politics. A record number of women have run for office and won their positions in political office.  Unfortunately, the private sector is another story.  Women hold less that 25% of CEO positions in Fortune 500 Companies.  As women entrepreneurs, it is time to create our own success and massively change this statistic. We can achieve this goal by establishing leadership and inspiring change in the business community and world political arena.

As women in this world, we are a huge untapped resource of wisdom, strength and leadership.  Let’s own that and take charge!

KEY 2: EMBRACE COURAGE

A great general once said, “True courage is being afraid and going ahead and doing your job anyway.  That’s what courage is.”

According to this quote, if you are not afraid at times, then it’s not courage. Both a coward and a hero are afraid. The hero is afraid, but embraces courage and moves forward anyway. Speaking for myself, I know there have been times that I was afraid that I wasn’t good enough to lead, share my wisdom, or create something new. That is when courage kicks in to remind me to say, “Yes I Can!”

What would it take for you to say YES and embrace your courage?

KEY 3: BE WILLING TO FAIL

At Draper University in Silicon Valley, we teach the Hero Oath. One of the most  important lines in that oath is, “I will fail and fail and fail again, until I succeed”.

Arianna Huffington might have said it best, “We need to accept that we will not always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes - understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.”

I have always believed, the only defeat is giving up or never trying.

The key is to take the first step and begin.  If that step doesn’t work, take a different step.  This is the journey of success.

KEY 4: FEED YOUR MIND

Tony Robbins teaches, “where focus goes, energy flows!”

What do you focus on most of your day?

Are you feeding your mind with inspiring wisdom, new learnings, or more awareness of the world around you?

Or, do you focus on all that is wrong your life, what’s missing, how things have gone wrong in the world?

Your energy will move toward your focus.  You either feed your mind with inspiration, courage and solutions, or despair, fear and defeat.

Which do you choose?

KEY 5: LIVE YOUR TRUTH

So many of us are taught that to be happy, we have to do more, be more and have more.  We end up on an endless treadmill without an end in sight. We find that what we achieve is never enough. We live our  lives based some expectation of society, our families or our peers.  That is their truth.

How often do you pause and ask, “What is my truth?”

The term “awakening” in its purest sense is awakening to your own truth.  Accepting who you are and what your real purpose and passion is in this world.  If you don’t awaken to your own truth, you will end up living the truth of someone else.

It’s time now to wake up!  Your time is now!

KEY 6: CHOOSE YOUR PEERS CAREFULLY

If you want to know who someone is, look at the 5 people they spend the most  time with.

Who are your peers?

What do they value?

Do they lift you into your greatness or hold you back?

Maybe it’s time to change your peers and choose peers that live and breathe leadership, vision, inspiration… peers that will lift you into your true destiny.

Be Well. Be Joyful. Be Inspired.
